Responsibilities:

 
  • Function as a liaison with project engineering, manufacturing, and the customer regarding the implementation of programs, both molding and secondary operations.
  • Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, manage to established yield and throughput, and drive for cost reduction and optimal quality.
  • Coordinate, direct, and lead engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
  • Interface with customers on a regular basis to resolve issues.
  • Facilitate communication between customer, sales, engineering functions, outside vendors, manufacturing, and multi-divisional groups.
  • Maintain cost control and profitability through interaction with the accounting group, sales, and our customers.
  • Implement technical solutions to meet customer and Phillips Plastics cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts.
  • Create and monitor project timelines
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately.
  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them.
  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures.
  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment.
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  •   B.S. degree in engineering field with minimum 3 years related experience;
  •   Medical device assembly experience
  •   Customer interface and project management experience 

Skills / Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills in injection molding, tooling, materials, product design, and affiliated processes; to include secondary operations and automation.
  • Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment and part designs meet requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple small- to medium-scale projects.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and implement quoted requirements.
  • Ability to develop and meet project schedules.
  • Ability meet financial goals.
  • Ability to work with sales to identify and develop future account needs.
  • Understanding of PPC's technologies (benefits, when to use, etc).
